The most joyful kids’ holiday is just around the corner. Christmas euphoria has already started. Letters to Santa are being written and sent to the North Pole, which means it’s time to hunt up the presents.
It’s almost mid-November, so we should sort it out as soon as possible to avoid the Christmas rush and shortage of toys. Not only will you avoid the shortage and shopping crowds but you can get good bargains and fair prices if you shop earlier.
As a mother, I always worry about my kids’ well-being, meaning that apart from healthy, organic food I tend to keep them well-dressed, neat, tidy and warm. I let others be their favourite aunts.
As an aunt, I tend to make my nephews and nieces happy and buy them what they want. I made a mistake once and I wrote about it. If you want to be someone’s favourite aunt, learn from my mistake here.
So, what are the best gifts for 3-year-old girls? I researched this question because I want our small princesses to be as happy as they deserve.
Girls Love Dolls
It is natural for a girl to be attracted to and love dolls. That is a kind of unwritten rule that dates from the past times. I wrote a blog about the history of toys that you might want to check out.
Doll magic is the most important thing in a girl’s life. It takes her to places where everything is possible, colourful and sparkly. In this world, the girl becomes the princess, the queen, someone important that brings major decisions, rules her empire and finds her prince.
This kind of play is so important in developing life-needed skills like communication, problem-solving and decision-making. It’s a perfect practice and preparation for future real-life situations.
Let your child enjoy this magic and practice their abilities in a safe environment.
I always go for the most natural toys, like wooden toys. However, I am aware that children watch TV commercials and get enticed by whatever they see there.
Now, there is always a dilemma about whether to buy them what they ask for or to listen to your consciousness and buy them a natural educational toy.
In the case when finding a compromising solution is impossible, for example, the doll your girl wants made of natural materials, then you should go for what your child wants to have. It’s Christmas, the most joyful time of year, kids’ favourite holiday, so go ahead and make them happy! They deserve it!
Dolls Need Equipment
If your princess has enough dolls, although there are never enough dolls, you may want to surprise her with doll accessories.
A doll always needs a house and a princess outfit. They need a car or in the case of a princess, a carriage would be a much better option.
Dollhouse would make a perfect gift especially if it includes as many accessories and figures as this one.
With this toy, children will learn to manage space, design and keep their living area tidy and safe. As there is a dog figure, they will get the idea of a pet in the house and its well-being.
Apart from all this, children are able to learn about other races and racial equality. With this toy, they will learn to respect all people, never mind their skin colour.
This fantastic set will sparkle a very imaginative and magical play to go with holiday enchantment. The good thing is that you can buy items separately and always surprise your daughter with an addition that she just wanted.
A Universal Gift
Modern times and the modern world made stereotypes redundant. Dividing toys into girls’ and boys’ is really unnecessary and unimportant. In my opinion, the division according to age is more important than gender classification.
As I have already mentioned, my girl loved balls at this age. Wherever we went, our souvenir was a ball. My boy doesn’t like balls. He likes cars, especially broken ones because he loves fixing them.
Speaking of the holiday season here, my other suggestion for a three-year-old girl is My First Advent Calendar, with farm animals instead of chocolates.
I am not a fan of sweets as they can make more harm than good, so I tend to avoid them. However, during the holiday season, they are just unavoidable! Ok, it is a holiday and in for a penny, in for a pound.
Anyway, this calendar will keep your children informed about the time left till Christmas. The booklet with a 24-chapter story about the Raven who saves Christmas is included in the set. It adds up to the Christmas magic together with festive illustrations that spark up children’s imaginations.
Fine motor skills, counting skills, basic mathematics and problem-solving skills are just a part of the many skills that can be utilized and perfected in this countdown calendar game.
Wooden Blocks
Any set of wooden blocks is a universal present that will make any child happy. It is a versatile, open-ended and interesting game that even the old love playing with it.
Of course, pay attention to the age of children and accordingly choose your set. The younger the child the larger the blocks should be. It is important because children of the age of three still have the habit to put toys in their mouths.
Again, my economical mind says that larger sets are more profitable than smaller ones. You can divide the set is several small ones and surprise your child on several occasions with additional small sets.
Don’t worry, it’s not cheating. We have to be practical due to the world economic crises and if they ever find out they will understand. However, our mission is to make them happy now.
This set of large wooden blocks is suitable even for one-year-olds which makes it pretty safe for your three years old daughters.
You will enjoy watching your savvy kid stacking blocks like a real engineer making castles and fancy houses, vehicles or things that only their imagination can come up with.
Believe me, you won’t be able to resist the desire to help them with the building. I know it from my personal experience. Just make sure you are not the manager.
So, What Are the Best Gifts for 3-year-old Girls?
I gave you some ideas in the previous paragraphs. These are the toys I would choose for my girl of that age. Of course, you don’t have to follow my suggestions but they might help you to choose the right toy.
What you should bear in mind is the size of the toy or parts of the toy that you are buying for your little one. They still tend to put everything in their mouths so be careful.
Take into consideration your daughter’s interests and likes. Choose the right toy accordingly not thinking much about gender stereotypes. All toys are universal and so should our minds and views be, too.
As always, my suggestion is to choose natural elements whenever possible. But Christmas is the time of year when we are laid-back and relaxed like we don’t have a worry in the world. So don’t worry if you buy a toy made of artificial material instead of a natural one.
Christmas time is the time to make magic, to make our children as joyful as possible. So, make them happy and be their favourite person at this time of year.
Still, don’t forget that Christmas is a time of giving and receiving. Teach them to give. Make them aware that presents should be symbolic and that everything counts including a hug, kiss or drawing. They should learn that the money measurement concept does not work for Christmas presents.
At the most loving time of year, it is the love and attention of the person they come from that is more important. Spread love and joy at this wonderful time of this difficult year.
